The President is the chief executive of Positive Strokes Racquet Club. He/she presides at meetings, serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors, rules on procedures and jurisdiction, appoints special committees, authorizes payments of bills, and coordinates the various activities of the club.
The Vice President aids the President in the performance of their duties, officiates in the absence of the President, and assumes the office of the Presidency in the event of a vacancy (temporary or permanent). The Vice President also coordinates our Polar Bear League, which meets on Saturdays from early February through the beginning of the PSRC season.
The Treasurer ordinarily receives the income of makes disbursements of club money. This officer is responsible for keeping financial records and reporting the financial condition of the Club as required.
The Secretary handles all correspondences, records the minutes of meetings, and performs any other duties pertinent to the office. The Secretary renews the name Positive Strokes Racquet Club in March 1993 and every ten years thereafter.
The Ex-Officio position is filled by the immediate past President of PSRC and acts in an advisory capacity. If the past President is unable or unwilling to serve, this position will be an additional To-Be-Defined position.
The Membership position is responsible for maintaining an active roster of all members and keeping an attendance record.
Tuesday Night Play
The Tuesday Night Play position (listed as “Weekly Play” in the Club’s By-Laws) is responsible for coordinating Flag Duty and regular Tuesday Night Play (“Weekly Play”).
The Social position plan and effects all social activities of the Club.
The Newsletter position is responsible for publishing and distributing the monthly newsletter.
The Mixer Directors position is responsible for setting up and directing Mixers as authorized by the Board of Directors.
The Trip Coordinator position is reponsible for organizing the Club’s annual Labor Day Trip. This position is one of three To-Be-Defined positions that are filled by the President to meet the anticipated needs of the Club during the year.
The Website/Email position is responsible for maintaining the Club’s website and email lists (general, Members-only, and Board-only). This position is one of three To-Be-Defined positions that are filled by the President to meet the anticipated needs of the Club during the year.
